Rheal Teffaine, Q.C. received his law degree from the Manitoba Law School (University of Manitoba/College de Saint-Boniface) in 1965. He was called to the bar in the same year. In 1975 the government appointed him Queen’s Counsel.
Mr. Teffaine was President of the Manitoba Bar Association in 1988, and served many years on the council of the Canadian Bar Association (Manitoba Division), as well as on the Executive Board. In a long and distinguished career focusing on both law and public service, he has served on the boards of directors of several organizations. These include l’Association d’éducation des Canadiens français du Manitoba (AECFM), the St. Boniface General Hospital Research Foundation, Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain (CCFM). He also served as President of La Federation des Caisses Populaires du Manitoba. In addition his law practice, Mr. Teffaine is a well-known commentator for both the radio and television networks of CBC/Radio-Canada.
After 52 years of practice serving the francophone community in Manitoba, he retired on August 11th, 2017. We wish Rheal all the best in his “forth quarter”.
